Pakistan armed forces mark 77th martyrdom anniversary of Capt. Sarwar

RAWALPINDI: The Armed Forces of Pakistan on 27th July, observed the 77th martyrdom anniversary of Captain Muhammad Sarwar Shaheed (Nishan-e-Haider), paying a great tribute to his exceptional courage and ultimate sacrifice for the motherland.

Captain Sarwar Shaheed, the first recipient of the country’s highest military gallantry award, Nishan-e-Haider, got martyrdom on 27 July 1948 during the First Kashmir War. 

He led a daring assault against enemy positions in the Tilpatra sector of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, displaying outstanding leadership, constant bravery, and selfless devotion to duty in the face of grave danger.

According to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement, the Armed Forces salute the heroism of Captain Sarwar Shaheed and remain resolute in upholding the values he integrated duty, honour, and the willingness to sacrifice everything for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Pakistan.

In this regard, the military and civil leadership also paid homage to Captain Sarwar Shaheed through various commemorative events, wreath-laying ceremonies, and messages of tribute shared on official platforms.
