RAWALPINDI: Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir held a meeting with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman, during which an agreement was reached on regional peace and cooperation in counter-terrorism.
According to ISPR, during the official visit to Saudi Arabia, detailed discussions took place between Field Marshal Asim Munir and Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman on matters of mutual interest, including the regional security situation, defense and military cooperation, strategic partnership, and evolving geopolitical challenges.
The meeting reaffirmed the deep, historic, and fraternal relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Under a royal decree issued by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Pakistan’s Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir was also conferred the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s highest civilian honor, the King Abdulaziz Medal of Excellence Class.
This honor was bestowed in recognition of Field Marshal Asim Munir’s distinguished military services and leadership, as well as his pivotal role in promoting defense cooperation, strategic alignment, and institutional ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
It also reflects his contributions to ongoing collaboration in regional peace and stability, particularly in the areas of counter-terrorism and security.
The Saudi leadership praised Field Marshal Asim Munir’s professional expertise and strategic vision, commending his commitment to strengthening the longstanding and brotherly relations between the two countries.
Field Marshal Asim Munir expressed gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Saudi leadership for the honor, describing it as a symbol of the strong and enduring ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
He reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the security, stability, and prosperity of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
