ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received a telephone call from Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, during which both leaders held a warm and cordial exchange.
The two leaders discussed the recently held Islamabad talks between the United States and Iran, which were hosted by Pakistan.
The Japanese Prime Minister appreciated Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts in facilitating the ceasefire and supporting dialogue, noting its importance for regional stability and global energy security.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed gratitude for Japan’s support and welcomed the positive outcome of the discussions between the U.S. and Iranian delegations in Islamabad.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to continue efforts aimed at sustaining the ceasefire and promoting peace.

Both sides also discussed strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation between Pakistan and Japan.
The Japanese Prime Minister reiterated Japan’s commitment to enhancing engagement with Pakistan, and both leaders agreed to maintain close coordination in the future.
