Lahore: South Africa are bowled out on 269 in their first innings against Pakistan at Lahore.
Resuming the overnight score of 216/5, South Africa were all out in the first session of Day 3 after adding just 53 runs and allowing Pakistan a lead of massive 109 runs.
Tony De Zorzi remained the top scorer with 104 whereas Reckelton was the other leading runs scorer with 71. Nuaman Ali, the left arm spinner, picked up 6 wickets for 112 runs.
Sajid Khan maintained the figures of 3/98. Earlier, Pakistan had managed 378 runs in their first innings with Imam ul Haq and Salman Ali Agha scoring 93 runs knock each.
Shan Masood played a fine innings of 76 runs, whereas Rizwan added 75 to Pakistan’s first innings total.
Senuran Muthusamy had grasped 6 Pakistan’s wickets after displaying a splendid piece of left-arm spin bowling.
The experts suggest that the wicket will generate more spin on the last two days of the test match so South Africa might feel difficult when they come out for a runs-chase.
However, Pakistan have to bat well in their second innings if they aim to set a decent target to put South Africa under pressure in the fourth innings.
South Africa, on the other hand, will be trying to get Pakistan out quickly in the second innings to make sure that the hosts do not manage a total which might cause trouble during runs-chase for the visitor specially in the likes of Sajid Khan and Nauman Ali.
Pakistan have already lost the wicket of Imam ul Haq in their second runs who got stumped out without scoring a run.
South Africa have straightway launched their spinners to operate from one end to extract some spin out of the track and get wickets rather quickly.
