KURRAM: The security forces have delivered a strong and measured response following what officials described as an unprovoked attack by Afghan troops along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
The security representative confirmed that the forces from Pakistan effectively retaliated, ensuring the protection of national sovereignty and preventing further escalation.
The statement focused that Pakistan reserves the right to defend its borders and citizens against any act of aggression.
Pakistan has raised concerns with the interim Afghan government over the presence and activities of the TTP and other militant organizations operating from Afghan soil.
Despite assurances from Kabul, incidents of cross-border firing and infiltration attempts have continued in recent months, straining diplomatic ties between the two neighboring countries.
However, the government warned that continued aggression or tolerance of terrorist groups within Afghan territory would have serious consequences for regional stability.
