Pak-Iran corridor near Turbat closed until further notice

TURBAT: The district administration of Turbat city of Balochistan has announced the closure of the corridor connecting with Iran, citing regional instability and security concerns following recent escalations in the Middle East.

According to a statement issued by the district administration, the Pak-Iran corridor in the Kech area near Turbat has been closed until further notice.

The district administration has appealed to the public that this step was inevitable in the current situation. Therefore, full cooperation should be extended to the administration in this regard.

Earlier, two entry points connecting to Iran in the Panjgur region have been closed.

It was previously reported that around 5,000 Pakistani pilgrims were in Iran at the time.

The government has issued instructions for pilgrims to contact the nearest diplomatic mission in case of any difficulties.

Additionally, the Pakistani government has advised pilgrims not to travel to Iran and Iraq due to the current situation. Similarly, the Gabd 250 border crossing via Gwadar has also been closed under the directives of the district administration.
