KHYBER: Heavy rain and snowfall have paralyzed parts of the Tirah Valley in Khyber District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, leaving approximately 100 vehicles stranded and prompting a large-scale multi-agency rescue operation.

Rescue teams from Peshawar, Nowshera, Swabi, and Mardan are on-site with over 50 personnel, 16 ambulances, and heavy machinery. Relief supplies, including blankets, sweaters, and beds, have been sent via 10 trucks.
The Pakistan Army has joined the relief activities, providing care for families who have been temporarily evacuated. They are working alongside local administration to manage traffic and ensure the continuous provision of food, shelter, and basic facilities to affected citizens.
According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), vehicles are stuck due to road closures from heavy snow accumulation. The district administration’s rescue operation is focused on extracting these vehicles and shifting people to safe locations with food. Rescue 1122 has deployed 15 personnel from Peshawar with recovery vehicles, ambulances, and medical supplies.
