Islamabad: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with the U.S. Coordinator for Counterterrorism, Gregory LoGerfo.
During the meeting, Gregory LoGerfo congratulated Mohsin Naqvi and the people of Pakistan on the country’s 78th Independence Day.
Both sides agreed to enhance cooperation in various areas, including Pakistan–U.S. relations, counterterrorism, border security, and counter-narcotics.
The meeting also resulted in an agreement to improve the exchange of information between the two countries in counterterrorism and counter-narcotics fields.
Mohsin Naqvi stated that Pakistan–U.S. relations have seen remarkable improvement since President Donald Trump’s administration took office, adding that the U.S. President’s sincere efforts for global peace are commendable.
He emphasized that transparency, mutual trust, and cooperation are key elements of the relationship, and that this is an opportune time to promote ties in every sector.
He further noted that the Counterterrorism Dialogue would help in formulating a joint strategy, and praised the U.S. decision to designate the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and the banned Majeed Brigade as global terrorist organizations.
Naqvi expressed confidence that Pakistan–U.S. cooperation would yield positive results in eliminating terrorism.
Gregory LoGerfo, in his remarks, described Pakistan as a country of great geostrategic importance and expressed sorrow over the loss of lives in recent terrorist attacks.

Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, Acting U.S. Ambassador to Pakistan Natalie Baker, and Federal Interior Secretary were also present at the meeting.
