ISLAMABAD: The foreign office has said that the peace talks between the Pakistani and the Afghan delegations are in process.
The spokesperson of the Pakistan’s foreign office has said that the peace talks between the delegations of Pakistan and Afghanistan began yesterday.
The Pakistani delegation has put forth the valid and logical demands to the mediators that aim the elimination of the cross-border militancy.
The mediators have vowed full support to the Pakistan’s point of view.
The mediators are negotiating with the Taliban regarding Pakistan’s concerns.
The spokesperson of the foreign office stressed that the rumors spread on the social media are merely either speculations or misleading information that is deliberately carried out.
It is worth-mentioning that the peace talks were in process yesterday when a Taliban group from the Afghanistan’s side launched an attack on the Pakistani posts on the Spin Boldak border.
The security forces of Pakistan responded in a calculated and responsible way.
However, Pakistan vowed that that ceasefire sustained. On the other hand, the Afghan foreign office made a provocative statement making a false allegation of the violation of the ceasefire from the Pakistani side.
The incident led to a pause to the peace-talks in Istanbul and both the delegations talked to their respective government afterwards.
However, things were settled later on the both the countries agree to continue the ceasefire as well as sustaining ceasefire.
It is worth mentioning that the first round of the peace talk too place in Doha after the strain on the border between the two countries earlier in October.
Both the countries had agreed to the ceasefire and vowed to conduct the second round of the peace talks in Istanbul.
The second round of the peace-talks was also heading to a dead-end, however, the mediators urged both the countries to continue the peace talks until the parties meet a conclusive point.
