India should act cautiously, says JD Vance

WASHINGTON: US Vice President JD Vance has said that we hope India will not give a response to the Pahalgam incident that will put peace at risk in the South Asia.

JD Vance said that Pakistan is a responsible country and needs to avoid any controversial response which will bring jeopardize peace in the region.

Giving interview to a news channel, JD Vance has expressed concern over the recent incident in the Pahalgam area of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK). India should accept the Pakistan offer of investigation of the incident and as a responsible country Pakistan is ready to cooperate in the matter, JD Vance said.

He further said that US wants peace to prevail in the region and the Pahalgam attack should be responded to with wisdom.

Earlier on April 22, at least 26 tourists were killed and 20 others were injured in an attack in Pahalgam area of IIOJK.

Following the incident, the Indian government started baseless allegations and without any evidence and proof trying to linked it to cross-border activities.

Pakistan’s political and military leadership has rejected these allegations and demanded an investigation under the United Nations or an impartial body.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio has also held separate talks with the leaders of both countries, while yesterday he completely rejected the Indian allegations and talked about looking at the matter positively.
