PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s tourist destinations saw a massive influx of visitors during Eid-ul-Adha holidays. More than 652,000 tourists visited the province in just three days, according to the Tourism Authority spokesperson.
In Galiyat, around 177,000 tourists arrived. Naran and Kaghan received 168,000 visitors. Malam Jabba welcomed 160,000 tourists, while Upper Dir saw 85,000 visitors, said spokesperson Muhammad Saad.
Tourism officials provided maximum facilities to tourists, following directions from Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Tourism Advisor Zahid Chanzeb, said DG Tourism Authority Habibullah Arif.
Tourism police played an active role in assisting tourists during Eid. “Our officers served with dedication and professionalism,” DG Arif added.
The Tourism Helpline 1422 remained operational round the clock throughout the holidays.
Merged districts also attracted a large number of tourists, showing growing interest in the region’s hidden beauty.
“Providing top-notch services to visitors remains one of our highest priorities,” said DG Arif.
