Sit-In Outside Parliament to Continue Until Demands Met: Opposition Alliance

ISLAMABAD: An opposition alliance, Tehreek Tahafuz Aain Pakistan, announced it will continue its sit-in outside Parliament House until its demands are met.

Speaking to reporters after a meeting of the alliance, senior Asad Qaiser leader said consultations were ongoing on the next course of action.

He said the alliance had decided to continue the protest until authorities allow the personal physician of PTI founder Imran Khan to meet him. He also demanded that party leaders and family members be granted access to the jailed former prime minister.

Following the decision, lawmakers resumed their sit-in outside Parliament and chanted slogans at the main entrance.

Earlier, during a consultative session, members voiced strong concerns over what they described as a social media propaganda campaign and questions raised by Khan’s sisters.

Several members demanded clarity on party leadership, asking whether the party would be run by Aleema Khan and the PTI founder’s family or by the political committee.
