PESHAWAR: Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Zulfiqar Hameed said that police act immediately wherever they receive intelligence reports, leaving no area beyond their reach.

He stated that police conducted operations in three districts yesterday and launched another early this morning. He added that police in Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan remain on high alert.

The IG said these operations have created serious challenges for terrorists, while police and law enforcement agencies are working jointly to eliminate militancy from the province.

Security forces have sustained pressure on militants through continuous operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Recently, forces launched an operation in Lower Dir to rescue civilians taken hostage by terrorists. During the exchange of fire, security forces killed ten militants, but seven soldiers embraced martyrdom.
