Only the state can declare Jihad:  DG ISPR

KARACHI:  – Director General ISPR, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif, stated that only the state holds the authority to declare jihad; no individual or group has this right.

During a special session in Karachi, DG ISPR met with representatives from various religious communities and social sectors.

He received a warm welcome and was assured of full support and solidarity from those present.

General Ahmed Sharif emphasized that all religious communities in Pakistan are equal citizens with full constitutional rights.

He highlighted that national unity stems from equality and harmony among all segments of society.

He also pointed out that India continues to sponsor terrorism in Pakistan, but the Pakistan Army is responding effectively with modern warfare strategies.

He condemned ethnic and linguistic hatred as ignorance, reiterating that all Pakistanis are equal and can overcome any threat through unity.

Reinforcing his key message, DG ISPR stated clearly that the right to declare jihad lies solely with the state, and no individual or group is authorized to make such declarations.
