One in every four students fails in the Balochistan matric exam

Balochistan Board announces Matric results 2025

QUETTA: One in every four students in Balochistan has failed this year’s matric exams.

A total of more than 148,114 students appeared in the matriculation exam of the Balochistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education.  Out of these, 108,870 students have successfully passed the exam, while the rest, which makes 26.5 percent of the total were failed.

Their failure at such a large number raises serious questions about learning abilities, educational quality, and broader socio-economic conditions affecting students.

This trend highlights systemic weaknesses in the province’s educational infrastructure and raises urgent concerns about the future of thousands of students whose dreams and confidence have been deeply shaken.

Why Are So Many Students Failing?

Experts cite multiple factors behind the alarming failure rate. These include poorly trained teachers, outdated and difficult curricula, and a severe lack of educational facilities, especially in rural and underserved areas. Additionally, many students are facing growing psychological pressures. As academic confidence declines, the path to a brighter future becomes narrower.

Flaws in the Educational System

The structural problems within the education system are evident. Many schools lack basic facilities, modern teaching methods are rarely implemented, and teacher training remains inadequate. These weaknesses directly affect students’ ability to learn and perform.
