JEDDAH: The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack on a school bus in Khuzdar, Balochistan.
In a statement, OIC Secretary General Hissein Brahim Taha said that targeting innocent students is a cowardly and highly condemnable act of terrorism.
The OIC Secretary General expressed heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the families of the martyred children and other victims. He affirmed that the OIC stands firmly with the government and people of Pakistan in their fight against terrorism.
The Khuzdar bus explosion occurred at 7:19 AM on May 21, when 42 students were on their way to school. The attack killed 8 students and injured several others. Security forces and rescue teams reached the scene immediately and shifted the injured to CMH Quetta, where they are currently receiving medical treatment.
Despite the tragic incident, the parents of the injured children and affected families have shown remarkable resilience. Havaldar Javed, father of one of the injured children, said, “This cowardly act by the enemy will not break our resolve. We stood for the security of our homeland before, and we stand firm even today.”
The affected families expressed satisfaction with the medical support provided by the Pakistan Army, stating that they are willing to sacrifice their lives for the defense and peace of the country.
According to security sources, India is allegedly using proxy networks to spread terrorism in Pakistan in an attempt to destabilize the country. However, Pakistan’s security forces remain fully alert and are determined to dismantle all such terrorist networks.
