Jhal Magsi – A significant oil and gas project has become operational in Jhal Magsi district of Balochistan.
The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has successfully completed the major Jhal Magsi Development Project.
According to the company’s spokesperson, the project was completed on a fast-track basis under the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
OGDCL officially informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange about the successful completion and inauguration of the Jhal Magsi Development Project.
The spokesperson stated that the project is currently producing 14 million cubic feet of gas per day and 45 barrels of oil daily.
The gas output from Jhal Magsi has already been connected to the SSGCL’s main pipeline network.
The project was launched in February 2024 after the government’s incentive package was approved. OGDCL holds a 56% operating share in the project, while POL owns 24% and GHPL has 20% stakes.
As part of its CSR initiatives, OGDCL has constructed schools, healthcare centers, and 84 model houses for low-income and homeless families in Jhal Magsi.
In addition, scholarships and technical training opportunities have been provided to local youth through NAVTTC.
The company has also supplied ambulances, organized free eye camps, and distributed ration bags to 800 families.

For clean drinking water, OGDCL installed two RO plants and multiple water tanks in the region.
