Notorious Fitna Al Hindustan commander neutralized in Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD: The senior militant commander associated with the Fitna Al Hindustan killed under mysterious circumstances in Afghanistan’s Helmand province on September 17, 2025.

This militant, identified as Gul Rahman alias Ustad Mureed, was known as the operational commander and trainer of the group’s Majeed Brigade, which has been linked to several deadly attacks in Pakistan.

Furthermore, Indian media outlets and social media platforms also reported his death, though the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear.

The Fitna-e-Hindustan has carried out high-profile attacks, including assaults on the Chinese Consulate in Karachi, Gwadar’s Pearl Continental Hotel, and the Pakistan Stock Exchange. It was also implicated in the Khuzdar school bus bombing, the suicide attack at the Confucius Institute in Karachi, and the Quetta Railway Station attack.

The Fitna Al Hindustan has consistently targeted projects linked to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), in order to undermine regional connectivity and cooperation.

The United States has already designated the Majeed Brigade as a global terrorist organization, while Pakistan and China have jointly called on the United Nations to include the group in its official list of proscribed terrorist entities.

Moreover, diplomatic observers suggest that his death could mark a significant setback for the group’s operations, though questions remain about the broader network’s capacity and the support it allegedly receives from external elements.
