NOKUNDI: In a major operation against human trafficking and illegal border crossings, FC Balochistan (South) arrested 65 illegal immigrants and destroyed four temporary shelters in the Nokundi area early Saturday morning.
According to security sources, the operation was launched based on a specific tip-off regarding the presence of undocumented individuals hiding in makeshift camps south of the NHA Toll Plaza. The Quick Response Force (QRF) of the Taftan Rifles, Nokundi Headquarters, immediately swung into action and conducted a targeted raid approximately five kilometers south of the toll plaza.
During the search operation, security forces apprehended 65 individuals residing illegally in the area. The group included 33 men, 14 women, and 18 children. All were taken into custody without any reported resistance.
Following the arrests, personnel from the Quick Response Force set four temporary shelters and shanties located at the site on fire. Security sources stated that the torching of the camps was carried out to prevent them from being used again as hideouts or safe havens by human smuggling networks.
The arrested individuals have been moved to an undisclosed location for further investigation. According to security officials, interrogations are currently underway to determine their nationalities, their point of entry into Pakistan, and the identities of the human traffickers responsible for transporting them.
