Nine killed, one injured in road accident in Panjgur

PANJGUR: A tragic road accident occurred in the Gomazi area of Panjgur district of Balochistan on Saturday when a passenger bus, a Zambad vehicle, and a motorcycle collided. The deadly crash claimed nine lives and left one person critically injured.

Rescue teams rushed to the site and shifted the deceased and the injured to Panjgur Teaching Hospital.

According to Masroor Ahmed, head of Panjgur Medical Emergency, the victims included two people traveling in the Zambad, six passengers of the bus, and a motorcyclist. Another person riding on the motorcycle sustained serious injuries and was provided immediate medical treatment. The process of identifying the deceased and injured is underway.

Police said initial investigations suggested overspeeding as the main cause of the accident. Following the collision, both the bus and the Zambad caught fire, which was extinguished after a hectic effort by fire brigade staff.

Rescue workers, with the help of local residents, cleared the road and restored traffic.
