Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has shared details of a historic achievement, announcing the creation of 994,036 (nearly one million) job opportunities across the province.
In a message posted on social media platform X, Maryam Nawaz Sharif stated that, Alhamdulillah, a total of 994,036 employment opportunities have been generated throughout Punjab since February 2024.
She explained that 315,536 jobs were created through regular government recruitment, institutional reforms, and the expansion of public services.
Additionally, employment opportunities were provided through initiatives such as health clinics, schools, the “Suthra Punjab” program, and other development projects.
Under the Asaan Karobar initiatives, 203,000 jobs were created through SME financing.
The Chief Minister further revealed that 475,500 direct and indirect jobs were generated through housing schemes like “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar,” road construction, and other infrastructure development projects.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif reaffirmed that the Punjab government remains firmly committed to poverty alleviation, inclusive economic growth, and the provision of sustainable employment opportunities.
