NEPRA imposes fixed charges on domestic electricity users

ISLAMABAD: Fixed Charges Imposed on Domestic Consumers – NEPRA Issues Final Decision

Islamabad: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has notified its decision to impose fixed charges on both protected and non-protected domestic consumers.

According to the NEPRA decision, fixed charges have been levied on domestic consumers using up to 300 units per month.

Protected consumers using up to 100 units per month will now pay Rs 200 as fixed charges, while those consuming up to 200 units will face Rs 300 per month in fixed charges.

For non-protected consumers, fixed charges have been set at Rs 275 for consumption up to 100 units, Rs 300 for up to 200 units, and Rs 350 for up to 300 units.

Non-protected consumers using up to 400 units will now pay Rs 400 (an increase of Rs 200), those using up to 500 units will pay Rs 500 (an increase of Rs 100), and those consuming up to 600 units will face Rs 675 (an increase of Rs 75).

However, for consumption between 700 units, the fixed charges have been reduced by Rs 125 to Rs 675 per month.

For usage exceeding 700 units, the fixed charges have also been reduced by Rs 325, bringing them down to Rs 675 per month.
