KARACHI: Electricity prices have once again been increased for consumers across the country, including Karachi.
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has issued an official notification to raise electricity tariffs by Rs. 1.42 per unit under the monthly fuel adjustment for February 2026.
According to the statement issued by NEPRA, this increase will apply to all electricity consumers nationwide, including those served by K-Electric. However, lifeline consumers and electric vehicle charging stations have been exempted from this increase.
Consumers will be charged this additional amount in their electricity bills for April 2026.
It is worth noting that NEPRA had reserved its decision after completing the hearing on the February monthly adjustment, which has now been officially announced.
Earlier, in the January monthly fuel adjustment, electricity prices were also increased by Rs. 1.63 per unit. With the February adjustment, the financial burden on consumers has increased further.
