NDMA: Monsoon rains claim 252 lives across Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has confirmed that 10 more people were died and 13 others were injured in a rain and flood related incident in different parts of the country.

According to the NDMA report regarding the details of the losses caused by monsoon rains from June 26 to July 23. NDMA said that a total of 252 people has died and 611 have been injured across the country due to monsoon rains so far.

The dead include 121 children, 85 men, 46 women, with Punjab reporting the highest number of 139 deaths and 477 injuries.

Report further revealed that 60 deaths and 74 injuries were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 24 deaths and 40 injuries were reported in Sindh, and 16 deaths and 4 injuries were reported in Balochistan. It further disclosed that 2 people died in Azad Kashmir and 6 in Islamabad, with a total of 1,050 houses damaged so far.

The report said that a total of 328 cattle have been swept away in the water so far, and 12 bridges have been damaged due to the rains.
