NDMA issues flash flood alert for Balochistan, KP, Punjab

ISLAMABAD: National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an alert for Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab provinces due to possibility of heavy downpour in several parts of these provinces.

According to details, NDMA has urged the people living by the rainwater streams in Balochistan, are given the advisory to stay alert and the tourists have also been asked to not to visit any water area during the ongoing monsoon season.

Some 18 districts of Balochistan were given a special advisory during the ongoing Monsoon seasons and the deputy commissioners were asked to keep the rescue departments stand on their toes.

The rescue departments had arranged all the equipment and the necessary machinery to all the delicate areas in the ongoing season.

According to the NDMA advisory notification, the risk of landslides and flash floods has increased in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Mansehra, Battagram, there is a possibility of flooding in the rain drains of Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Kurram, Bajaur, monsoon winds have entered Sindh, it rained in the outskirts of Karachi, there was a rim jhum in Surjani Town and New Karachi.

There was light rain in some places, heavy rain in some places, heavy rain in Uch Sharif and Sarai Alamgir, low-lying areas were flooded, clouds also fell in Kalat, the possibility of possible thunderstorms in Punjab has increased.
