ISLAMABAD: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has formally launched an investigation against those elements who are running anti-state propaganda campaigns on social media.
The NCCIA has identified 500 social media accounts involved in anti-state propaganda campaigns and working against the interest of state by promoting hate and negative campaigns against the state.
The agency has formally launched an investigation into the matter and revealed that these accounts were active in running a coordinated anti-state online campaign across the country.
The government informed that these social media accounts became part of a coordinated anti-state propaganda campaign on May 8, 2025, which aimed to create negative public opinion against national institutions and the government.
Special teams of the Cyber Crime Wing are conducting an in-depth analysis of the digital activities of these accounts.
According to reports, action is being taken to obtain data from NADRA to identify the individuals and institutions involved in this matter so that the responsible elements can be brought to justice.

The NCCIA official confirmed that strict legal action will be taken against those trying to destabilize the state through online platforms.
