ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) achieved another major success in the fake pension scam in Hyderabad, with eight accused reaching a plea bargain exceeding Rs. 900 million.
The accused also surrendered agricultural land worth billions. Last month, the widow of a deceased officer had also settled a plea bargain worth Rs. 2.5 billion.
According to details, the accused handed over mango and lemon orchards as part of the plea bargain, with the total market value of recovered assets exceeding Rs. 2 billion.
The families of the accused were beneficiaries of the fake pension scam.
The eight accused—Azizullah, Liaqat Ali, Ramzan Dauch, Imdad Ali, Mumtaz Ali, Zulfiqar Ali, Muhammad Ali, and Ehsan Ali—settled the plea bargain on behalf of their families.
NAB had investigated the Hyderabad District Accounts Office pension scandal and secured this second major success in just two months, following last month’s settlement by the former Additional Director Accounts’ widow.
