QUETTA: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has arrested Quetta’s District Education Officer (DEO) on charges of corruption and misuse of authority.
According to initial reports, the arrested DEO is accused of using fake degrees and forged documents to illegally appoint his wife and 16 close relatives to various positions within the Education Department. The alleged appointments were made without following proper recruitment procedures, raising serious concerns about transparency and merit in the system.
NAB officials said that a formal investigation is underway, and further arrests are expected. Authorities are also reviewing internal records of the Education Department to uncover any broader network of corruption and illegal appointments in the department.
