ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly on Monday offered collective prayers for the victims of recent natural disasters, a tragic helicopter crash, and security personnel and civilians who got martyrdom in the line of duty.
In this sense, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq requested MNA Ali Muhammad to lead the prayers. The prayers also covered the Pakistan Army officers and personnel who were martyred in a helicopter crash, an incident that caused deep sorrow nationwide.
Lawmakers expressed solidarity with the bereaved families and paid a great tribute to the sacrifices rendered by the armed forces in safeguarding the country. In this regard, the House further remembered the victims of the powerful earthquake that struck Afghanistan, causing widespread devastation and claiming hundreds of lives.
Furthermore, the special prayers were also offered for Assistant Commissioner Pattoki Qurban Ahmad Khan, who got martyrdom while performing his official duties, as well as for police personnel who recently lost their lives in terrorist attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Moreover, tributes were paid to Captain Taimoor Shaheed from Chakwal and other security personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting the nation.
