N-25 National Highway inaugurated in Balochistan

QUETTA: Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has inaugurated major national development projects in Balochistan.

According to details, the prime minister formally launched the construction of the N-25 National Highway in Quetta, the provincial capital.

He directed authorities to ensure timely completion of all development projects and stressed that no compromise should be made on the quality of work on the N-25 highway.

The project is scheduled to be completed by December 2027.

Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfaraz Bugti were also present at the ceremony.

Addressing the gathering, Abdul Aleem Khan said that Balochistan is the heart of Pakistan and highlighted that 40 percent of the work on the N-25 highway is being carried out within the province.

He described the 800-kilometer-long highway as a true game changer and revealed that work is currently underway on 16 projects worth Rs 735 billion in Balochistan.

He emphasized that connecting Balochistan with the rest of the country through an improved road network is a top federal priority, adding that special funds for the long highway were released on the prime minister’s instructions.

He also termed the day historic for the National Highway Authority.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti said that the provincial government would fully cooperate with the federal government in development and reconstruction efforts.

He added that people across the country hold deep affection for Balochistan and support its progress.
