Muqam hints at possible change in KP government

SWABI: Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, SAFRON, and Gilgit-Baltistan, Amir Muqam, said that a change in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government was not out of the question.

He criticized those who, according to him, had turned Kashmir Exploitation Day into “Imran Exploitation Day,” adding that the nation would hold them accountable.

In this regard, Muqam was visiting Dildar Khan to offer condolences on the death of his brother. He reasserted that the PML-N leadership was willing to hold dialogue with opposition parties, but alleged that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had rejected such offers and opted for what he described as “politics of violence.”

The minister clarified that PML-N had no involvement in decisions related to the May 9 cases.

He further said PTI’s decision to protest on Kashmir Exploitation Day was inappropriate, and claimed that the nation rejected their protest on August 5, which he termed “an utter disappointment.”

He accused PTI of now planning protests on August 14, which he said would only create chaos on Independence Day “to please India and Israel.”

In addition, traders and residents of Marghuz and surrounding areas on Friday gave police a three-day deadline to trace the robbers who shot and injured a petrol station owner during a robbery attempt earlier this week.

The protesters, who gathered at Marghuz Bazaar, staged a sit-in to condemn the incident. He was addressing the gathering, Akmal Khan, a local leader of the Awami National Party (ANP), warned that if the culprits were not apprehended within three days, a larger protest would be staged at the district headquarters.
