CARACAS: Multiple powerful explosions rocked Venezuela’s capital, Caracas, sending fear through the city in the early hours of Saturday.
At least seven loud blasts were reported across the city. Residents also heard low-flying aircraft, raising further concern.
Following the explosions, power went out in several areas, and smoke was seen rising into the sky. Witnesses said the blasts were strong enough to shake windows, prompting people to flee to the streets in panic.
Authorities have not yet provided a cause for the explosions. It remains unclear whether they were linked to an attack, an accident, or part of a military or political confrontation.
The incident comes amid escalating tensions between the United States and Venezuela. U.S. actions against drug trafficking and increased political pressure on Caracas have heightened regional anxieties.
