QUETTA: Balochistan’s first-ever technology park, the Mountain View Tech Park, was officially inaugurated on October 24, 2024, by Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti in Mariabad, Quetta.
This landmark initiative aims to promote technological innovation and entrepreneurship in the province.
The tech park is established in a renovated 15-year-old government building and features 67 tech offices catering to various IT and digital services.
It is expected to train around 1,000 youth within the first six months, helping them secure local and international employment opportunities in the digital sector.
This is part of the Balochistan government’s Public-Private Partnership (PPP) approach to repurpose idle government infrastructure for public benefit.
The government has announced plans to set up similar IT parks in other divisional headquarters across Balochistan, boosting regional digital transformation.
Additionally, Governor Jafar Khan Mandokhail has revealed plans for a modern IT Park in Quetta, highlighting the need for strategic planning, modern research, and academic expertise to meet digital age demands.
