QUETTA: A mosque came under attack in Balochistan’s Awaran district after militants fired mortar shells and rockets during prayers, injuring four children, security officials said.
The attack targeted a civilian area. The injured were shifted to a nearby medical facility. No fatalities were reported.
Pakistani security sources blamed the attack on BLA militants, describing the group as a proxy of “Fitna-tul-Hindustan.” Officials said the assault aimed to spread fear and disrupt peace in the region.
The Pakistan Army said it continues operations to foil what it called the group’s agenda and to neutralise militants involved in attacks on civilians.
