QUETTA: The Meteorological Department has forecast a new spell of monsoon rains, beginning in Balochistan tomorrow and in the rest of the country from tonight.
According to the Met Office, Islamabad, along with several cities in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, will likely receive rainfall from July 28 to 31. It warned that flooding may occur in low-lying areas and rivers during this period.
The department reported that a monsoon system currently affects Punjab, including Lahore, but expects only light rainfall in the region.
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued an alert for the fifth monsoon spell, which is expected to impact various regions between July 28 and 31.
In Balochistan, the Met Office expects rain from July 29 to 31, while it predicts rainfall in Sindh between July 30 and 31.
The Met Office has also cautioned that rainwater may accumulate in low-lying areas, and landslides could occur in upper regions of the country.
Authorities have urged tourists and travelers to plan their movements according to the latest weather updates.
