Mojtaba Khamenei healthy, out of sight due to war : Iran

Strait of Hormuz will remain closed: Mujtaba Khamenei

TEHRAN :  Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baqai has confirmed that the country’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, is in good health, attributing his absence from public view to prevailing war conditions.

In an interview with an Egyptian newspaper, Baqai addressed growing speculation regarding the leader’s health, assuring that there is no cause for concern. He explained that the current security situation has necessitated a reduced public profile.

Baqai also leveled sharp accusations against the United States, claiming that Washington initiated a war with Iran based on miscalculations and provocations from Israel. He argued that the US approach has permanently damaged its credibility on the world stage.

“No one in the world will trust American diplomacy anymore,” Baqai stated. He accused the US of using diplomatic dialogue as a pretense while ultimately seeking to impose its demands through coercion and force.

The spokesman further emphasized that the Iranian populace remains unwilling to engage in talks with the United States, citing what he described as “previous deception” by American administrations. The remarks signal a continued hardening of Tehran’s stance against direct negotiations with Washington amid heightened regional tensions.
