LAHORE: The Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, along with Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, paid a visit to Allama Iqbal International Airport to review the immigration process for outbound international passengers.
Furthermore, the ministers conducted a detailed inspection of immigration counters and observed the performance of the staff on duty. They also interacted directly with passengers traveling abroad to gather firsthand feedback about the efficiency, transparency, and overall experience of the immigration procedures.
In this regard, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the immigration counters personally and appreciated the performance of an officer of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) posted there. He commended the officer for demonstrating professionalism and efficiency and encouraged immigration staff to continue maintaining high service standards.
Moreover, a passenger traveling to Kuwait complained about missing boarding due to delays during the checking process. The Interior Minister directed the relevant authorities to facilitate the passenger’s boarding without further delay.
The swift response was appreciated by passengers present at the terminal.
Meanwhile, several passengers informed the ministers that the immigration process was being completed within minutes, describing the improvement as a positive and welcome development. They expressed satisfaction with the streamlined procedures and courteous behavior of the staff.
So far, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that protecting Pakistan’s dignity and ensuring passenger convenience were among the government’s top priorities. He focused on that no passenger would be stopped from traveling abroad without valid reasons.
However, he made it clear that individuals identified as professional beggars or those carrying incomplete or suspicious documentation would not be allowed to travel overseas. He stated that such practices bring disrepute to the country and would not be tolerated.
“Those who harm Pakistan’s image have no place in international travel and will face legal consequences,” he said.
The Interior Minister further directed officials to make the immigration system more effective, transparent, and passenger-friendly. He stressed the need for continued monitoring, improved coordination, and strict adherence to rules to ensure smooth operations at airports.
Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry also mentioned the importance of maintaining discipline and professionalism at all immigration checkpoints to enhance Pakistan’s international image.
The visit indicates the government’s ongoing efforts to increase airport operations, improve public service delivery, and ensure safe and dignified international travel for Pakistani citizens.
