ISLAMABAD: PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has stated that Pakistan managed to get its demands accepted by the ICC and has agreed to play against India.
In a statement issued after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif gave permission for the team to play against India yesterday, Mohsin Naqvi said:
“We had no personal agenda. Our only objective was to get respect and justice for Bangladesh.”
He further said:
“Whatever Bangladesh had said — it has been accepted. Our sole purpose was to get the injustice done to Bangladesh corrected.”
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi also clarified that no discussion whatsoever took place regarding any three-country series during the negotiations with ICC Deputy Chairman Khawaja Imran.
He added:
“60% of the players in the team that will go to play are young players from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. We are all united and working together against terrorism.”
