COLOMBO: Pakistan’s Interior Minister and Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board Mohsin Naqvi met Sri Lanka’s Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Sunil Kumara Gamage to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in sports, particularly cricket, officials said.
The two sides held detailed talks on strengthening collaboration and agreed to broaden engagement with Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Sports.
Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Major General (Retired) Faheem Ul Aziz, Adviser to the PCB Chairman Aamir Mir, PCB Chief Operating Officer Sameer Ahmed, and Pakistan Super League Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer attended the meeting.
Naqvi said relations between Pakistan and Sri Lanka were gaining warmth and that cooperation in cricket and other sports would further strengthen bilateral ties. He thanked Sri Lanka for its hospitality and praised arrangements for the T20 World Cup.
Naqvi invited the Sri Lankan sports minister to visit Pakistan.
He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing security cooperation with Sri Lanka and expanding ties across multiple sectors.

Pakistan’s national cricket team is currently playing World Cup matches in Sri Lanka. Naqvi is visiting the country to watch the Pakistan-India match.
