Mobile and WhatsApp service disruptions cause inconvenience in Quetta

QUETTA: Residents of Quetta are facing significant difficulties due to weak mobile signals and sluggish WhatsApp service.

In key areas like the Eastern Bypass and its surroundings, users report extremely poor service from major networks including Jazz, Ufone, and Zong. WhatsApp functionality on Ufone and Zong is also noticeably slow, making communication difficult for many.

Users emphasize that mobile and WhatsApp services are essential not just for personal use, but also for office work and business operations.

However, the poor service has disrupted many important and urgent matters, leaving people frustrated.

They argue that, compared to more developed provinces, the situation in Balochistan is highly disappointing—especially when the provincial capital itself suffers from such basic connectivity issues, raising concerns about the conditions in smaller towns.

Interestingly, Ufone and Zong towers are present in the Eastern Bypass area, but signal strength remains unreliable.

Even when electricity is available, signal quality is only about 50%, and during long power outages, tower generators are not activated. This raises serious questions about the diesel supplied for these backup systems—where is it going?
