QUETTA: Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rafiq Hamza Mengal, who had gone missing in Balochistan, has safely returned.

According to police, DSP Mengal disappeared near Surab while traveling from Hub. He returned without his mobile phone and official vehicle.

The reasons behind his disappearance and subsequent return remain unclear. Police have launched an investigation from multiple angles, while security agencies alerted police in nearby districts following the incident.

Police officials said they would not issue a final statement until the investigation is complete.

A senior police official has gone missing in Balochistan, raising concerns among authorities.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mastung, Rafiq Hamza Mengal, went missing while travelling from Hub to Mastung, and no trace of him has been found even after 48 hours.

According to police officials, DSP Rafiq Hamza had returned to the Hub checkpoint from Mashkay, his native village in Awaran District, after attending his mother’s funeral.

On Thursday afternoon, he departed from Hub for Mastung to join his duties.
The officials said that he had reached Surab on the National Highway, but since then, there has been no contact, and his mobile phone has been switched off.

Speaking on the matter, Deputy Commissioner Mastung Behram Saleem had confirmed that there were reports of DSP Rafiq Hamza’s disappearance, and inquiries are underway.
