Miner dies from Toxic Gas in Shahrag Coal Mine

Quetta: A miner lost his life after inhaling poisonous gas in a coal mine in Shahrag. According to Levies officials, the incident occurred on Sunday when toxic gas suddenly filled the mine, causing the worker to suffocate.

Fellow miners retrieved the body on their own and shifted it to a hospital.

Authorities reported that the deceased was an Afghan national.

In a separate development, Levies personnel in Kohlu arrested suspects involved in the recent killing of three people.

Officials stated that gunmen had opened fire in the Lasi Zai area of Kohlu, killing three individuals, and six suspects were named in the First Information Report (FIR) filed by the victims’ families.

Acting on intelligence, Levies and Quick Response Force teams carried out a raid and apprehended all six suspects—identified as Lal Jan, Qutab Khan, Kareemo, Mahi Khan, Wazir Muhammad, and Sharbat.

The detainees have been moved to the central station for further investigation.

It is worth mentioning that many such mines incidents have occurred in Balochistan which have led to many deaths of poor laborers in the past many years.

At times , the mines get filled with toxic gases and get suffocated. Similarly , on many occasions , the mines collapse ruining the poor laborers. So the remedies and the precautionary measures need to be carried out in this regard.

At the same time, insurgencies in Balochistan have led to the target killing of the armed forces personnel.

Such target killing incident also lead to unrest and provocation among the masses. So peace and stability is the key to development and progress in Balochistan.
