Forces Foil Suicide Bomber Assault on Military Headquarters in North Waziristan

MIRANSHA: A powerful explosion followed by sustained gunfire struck Boya in North Waziristan on Friday after a suicide bomber targeted a military headquarters, triggering an attempted infiltration, security officials said.

The Khorasan Diary cited officials reported that the attacker detonated explosives at the Boya battalion headquarters, prompting immediate retaliatory fire as security forces foiled the assault.

Police said the suicide bomber struck the security forces’ headquarters located along the main Miranshah road. Following the attack, security forces launched a clearance operation in the surrounding area.

Meanwhile, Aswad-ul-Harab’s Huzaifa suicide bombing squad, affiliated with the Hafiz Gul Bahadar group under the Ittihadul Mujahideen Pakistan umbrella, claimed responsibility for the attack in Boya, located in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province’s North Waziristan district.

Last week, security forces eliminated thirteen militants affiliated with the Indian proxy group Fitna Al Khwarij during two separate intelligence-based operations carried out in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

According to the ISPR, an intelligence-based operation was conducted in Mohmand District following reports about the presence of militants in the area.

During the operation, security personnel effectively engaged the identified location. After an intense exchange of fire, seven militants were neutralized.

In a separate intelligence-led operation in Bannu District, security forces successfully eliminated six additional militants, further disrupting the group’s activities in the region.
