Military Court Sentences Faiz Hameed to 14 Years Imprisonment

RAWALPINDI: A Field General Court Martial sentenced former Lieutenant General and ISI Chief Faiz Hameed to 14 years of imprisonment on Thursday.

According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR, media affairs wing of the Pakistan Army, the trial agaisnt Faiz Hameed, initiated on 12 August 2024 under the Pakistan Army Act, lasted 15 months. former Lieutenant General faced four charges: engaging in political activities, violating the Official Secrets Act in ways harmful to state security, misusing authority and government resources, and causing wrongful loss to individuals.

After extensive legal proceedings, the court found him guilty on all charges. The verdict was officially promulgated on 11 December 2025.

The court stated that all legal provisions were followed. Hameed was provided full legal rights, including the right to a defense team of his choice. He retains the right to appeal in the relevant forum, read the statement.

Involvement of convict in fomenting vested political agitation and instability in cohorts with political elements and in certain other matters is separately being dealt with, it concluded.
