QUETTA: Security forces in Balochistan have started seeing significant results from successful Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 1. Notorious local militants surrendered to authorities.
Efforts by security forces and the provincial government to restore peace in Balochistan have begun to show success. Criminal groups involved in looting and other offenses laid down their arms.
Meerak Kahan Chakrani along with 25 others associates have laid down their arms and surrendered to the state at Pakistan house in Sui.
The surrendered group had been involved in past robberies and extortion. They also turned in a large cache of weapons and ammunition. Meerak Khan Chakrani announced his joining of the Chakrani Peace Force to combat militant elements.
Authorities said the effective strategy of Operation Radd-ul-Fitna is expected to convince other militants and criminal groups in Balochistan to surrender soon.

Security forces and the brother of Balochistan Chief Minister, Mir Aftab Bugti, played a key role in the operation.
