PESHAWAR: In various cities across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, terrorist assaults claimed the lives of five police personnel, including an Additional SHO, while several others were injured.
In the Panah Kot area of Dir, terrorists ambushed a police mobile. Members of the Police Quick Response Force were conducting routine night patrols when unidentified armed assailants opened fire.
The attack resulted in the martyrdom of three officers and injuries to six others.
On the outskirts of Peshawar, terrorists targeted two police checkpoints and a police station. According to CCPO Qasim, attacks were carried out on Matani and Nasir Bagh checkpoints and Hassan Khel police station.
The Matani checkpoint in Adezai and the Nasir Bagh checkpoint in Sakhi Pul successfully repelled the assaults, but during the attack on Hassan Khel station, one officer was martyred and another injured.
In Khyber District, a bomb exploded beside the wall of the DSP Sub-Office in Landi Kotal.
Police reported partial damage to the wall but no casualties. Another explosion occurred in the Gungi Kalle area, where a bomb planted next to a house caused partial damage to a local man’s guest room.
Meanwhile, in Parachinar, Additional SHO Qaiser Hussain of Orudda Station was martyred during a raid to arrest Tehran Turi, a suspect wanted in the Kurram riots, when assailants opened fire on police.
