Meena Majeed Baloch Outlines Youth Vision: Sports, Jobs, and Patriotism Key for Balochistan

QUETTA: Provincial Advisor for Sports and Youth Affairs, Meena Majeed Baloch, has emphatically stated that the youth are the “backbone of the nation and the real force of development,” outlining the government’s comprehensive strategy for their empowerment during a major university sports event.

Addressing the closing ceremony of the Ansar Universities Anti-Corruption Day Sports Festival 2025 at the Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS), the advisor detailed the government’s multi-faceted approach. She highlighted that effective policies are in place to promote sports, develop youth leadership, and create better employment opportunities, enabling young people to play an active role in the province’s progress.

Meena Majeed Baloch stressed that sports are a crucial tool for positive character building, as they instill essential values like tolerance, teamwork, and discipline in the youth—qualities she termed indispensable for a healthy society and a transparent system. She reiterated the government’s clear policy for sports promotion, which includes providing opportunities for athletes and establishing modern sports complexes across the province.

The advisor also spoke about the broader role of youth, urging them to devote their energies to knowledge, research, and social service. She asserted that if young people make honesty, discipline, and research their motto, societal ills like corruption and mismanagement will automatically be eradicated. In a firm message on national unity, she called on the youth to show wisdom and awareness by rejecting any narrative or action against state or national interests, stating that “the state is the guarantee of our identity, security and future”.

She concluded by congratulating BUITEMS, NAB Balochistan, and all participating teams for the successful event and called on the youth to become a “collective voice against corruption,” framing the fight against corruption as a struggle for Pakistan’s bright future.
