QUETTA: A major corruption scandal has surfaced in the Balochistan Food Department, revealing a loss of over Rs. 5 billion due to the mispricing of 800,000 wheat sacks—each sack reportedly underpriced by Rs. 1,000.
Despite existing cases against Deputy Director Salman Kakar and Assistant Director Aslam Shah, both officials continue to illegally sell wheat after being released on bail.
In just one month, the two have allegedly sold over Rs. 1 billion worth of wheat unlawfully. Instead of being suspended, they remain actively involved in embezzlement, reportedly with the backing of top officials including Secretary Muzaffar Zeeshan Lehri.
Daily corruption is said to be ongoing with no fear of accountability.
