BAHAWALNAGAR: Bahawalnagar police are investigating a distressing incident after a married woman was allegedly kidnapped from her home in the village of Qamar Din Hans. The crime, described by authorities as “inhumane,” has sent shockwaves through the local community.
According to the First Information Report (FIR) registered at the Sadar police station, unidentified suspects forcibly entered the woman’s house. The assailants then allegedly abducted the victim, transporting her away from the scene in a car. The kidnapping was accompanied by a robbery, with the perpetrators making off with Rs. 100,000 in cash and an undisclosed amount of gold ornaments from the residence.
The brazen nature of the crime—a home invasion culminating in abduction and theft—has raised serious concerns. Local police have launched a full-scale investigation, registering a case against the unknown suspects. Efforts are currently focused on identifying the individuals involved, tracing the vehicle used, and, most urgently, locating the kidnapped woman to ensure her safe recovery.
Details regarding the motive behind the crime or the identity of the victim are being withheld by investigators at this early stage.
Meanhwile in Balochistan a commander of the banned outfit Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) abducted a woman in broad daylight and subjected her to sexual assault for four days before abandoning her in a deserted area.
The victim, identified as Hanal Baloch, was kidnapped from the Skalo area. She said BLA militants sexually assaulted her over four days.
In an interview with media, Hanal said the attack was orchestrated by BLA commander Dwogazin, also known as Sarabi, along with his accomplices.
She said the militants beat her and abandoned her in a remote area after the assault.
Hanal, in a video message, appealed to the government to apprehend the perpetrators. She condemned the BLA for claiming to fight for Baloch rights while targeting women and violating local traditions.
She called on authorities to take action to eliminate the group’s influence and protect civilians.
This incident highlights ongoing security challenges in Balochistan, where militant groups have repeatedly targeted civilians and women.
