First-Ever Images Reveal Marka-e-Haq’s Deep Scars on India

ISLAMABAD: Satellite imagery circulating online appears to show damage to an Indian military warehouse and armoury inside Jalandhar Cantonment in India’s Punjab state, following last year’s India-Pakistan military escalation.

The images, dated May 4, 2023, and May 25, 2025, show visible structural damage at a facility identified by analysts as a warehouse or armoury. The site sits at coordinates 31°18’12″N, 75°37’52″E.

Independent analysts say the imagery suggests the destruction occurred after Pakistani retaliatory strikes, launched in response to what Islamabad described as Indian aggression during last year’s conflict.

Pakistan carried out counter-strikes after India conducted air and missile attacks inside Pakistani territory following the Pahalgam incident, which New Delhi described as a militant attack. Pakistan rejected India’s claims and termed the incident a false-flag operation.

Pakistani officials said at the time that their forces targeted multiple Indian military installations, destroyed several forward posts along the Line of Control, and shot down six Indian fighter jets, including Rafale aircraft. India did not confirm those losses.

The newly surfaced imagery has renewed debate over the material impact of the exchange. Analysts say the visible damage points to a strike on logistics or storage infrastructure, rather than frontline units.

Military experts note that such strikes aim to disrupt supply chains and operational readiness, while also shaping psychological and strategic signaling.

Neither the Indian Ministry of Defence nor the Pakistan military has commented on the latest images.

The incident highlights the continued volatility between the two nuclear-armed neighbors and the risks of rapid escalation in South Asia.
